The centerpiece bead is built from dozens of layers of natural lacquer, each coat dried and cured before the next is applied.  shell fragments are set into the lacquer mid-process, then revealed through hand-sanding and polishing. The result: a warm amber-yellow bead as smooth as polished amber, with iridescent blue-green flashes hidden beneath the surface — like starlight trapped in resin.
The flow of the lacquer and the placement of every shell fragment are unique to each bead. No two pairs are alike.

Each earring is composed of stacked elements, descending from the hook: a turquoise-hued enamel four-leaf clover, a deep crimson-colored crystal bead, a luminous pearl-toned accent, a teal-tinted enamel cap, and finally the bold yellow lacquer bead.
