[Urushi Lacquer] Natural Sap, Built Layer by Layer
Each bead is coated with natural urushi lacquer applied in successive layers — left to cure, then sanded and polished by hand, repeated dozens of times before completion. The lacquer surface is warm as jade, soft to the touch, and reveals its layered strata when held to the light: a depth and warmth that synthetic coatings can never achieve. A single bead takes more than a month from first coat to finish.
[Silver-Flake Lacquer] Crushed Silver in Lacquer, Moonlight in Motion
The artisan mixes crushed silver flakes into the lacquer, applying layer upon layer before polishing to a smooth finish. The silver shimmers half-beneath the surface — like crushed ice reflecting the moon, like frost spread across the ground. Turn the wrist and the silver shifts in the light, the entire bracelet flowing like moonlight across the skin. Achieving this effect requires precise control of silver distribution and polishing depth, a skill that demands years of experience.
[Iridescent Sheen] Blue and Pink Beneath, Like Opal, Like Aurora
Beneath the silver flakes, faint layers of pale blue and pink-violet stir, shifting with every angle — like the play of color in an opal, like the aurora across a polar sky. No two beads carry the same distribution of iridescence; strung together, they form a sequence of moons, each one unlike the last.
[15mm Beads] A Weight That Sits Right
At 15mm in diameter, the beads carry a steady, grounded presence — substantial on the wrist without feeling heavy. Lacquer is naturally light, so the bracelet wears comfortably through long days. Each bead is rounded and polished to a full, smooth sphere; the string settles gently against the skin, warm and unobtrusive.
[Aesthetic] Moonlight at the Wrist, for Daily Wear and for Keeping
In daily wear, the silver sheen is quiet and restrained, lending clarity to simple clothing; in formal settings, the iridescence glows subtly at the cuff — understated, yet carrying weight. When not worn, lay the bracelet on a desk: silver beads in a circle, like a full moon. The lacquer develops a richer patina with age — a bracelet to wear for a lifetime.
[Care] Wipe lacquer gently with a soft cloth. Avoid sharp objects, strong acids, and alkalis.
The silver-flake surface is sensitive to direct sunlight and strong acids; keep away from chemicals. Store in a jewelry box or soft pouch when not worn to prevent cord wear and bead scratches.
