[Urushi Lacquer] Natural Sap, Built Layer by Layer
Each bead is coated with natural urushi lacquer applied in successive layers — left to cure, then sanded and polished by hand, repeated dozens of times before completion. The lacquer surface is warm as jade, soft to the touch, and reveals its layered strata when held to the light: a depth and warmth that synthetic coatings can never achieve. A single bead takes more than a month from first coat to finish.
[Deep Black Finish] Black as the Abyss, Stars Half-Hidden
Pure black urushi forms the ground, while fine silver-white specks stir half-hidden within the lacquer strata — like distant stars scattered across the night sky. The black is deep and penetrating, not a flat surface black but a profound darkness built from layer upon layer of lacquer. No two beads carry the same distribution of star-specks; strung together, they form an entire galaxy circling the wrist.
[Mirror Polish] A Surface That Holds Light
The finished beads are polished repeatedly until the lacquer reaches a mirror-like sheen, light flowing across the surface like obsidian, like a still deep pool. The luster of urushi is not the cold gleam of plating — it is a warm, restrained radiance that deepens the longer you look and softens the more you wear it.
[18mm Beads] Larger Beads, Stronger Presence
At 18mm in diameter, the beads carry a stronger, more substantial presence — resting on the wrist like a piece of dark jade. On a man's wrist the effect is grounded and commanding; on a woman's wrist the larger scale sets off the slenderness of the arm with quiet confidence. Each bead is rounded and polished to a full, smooth sphere; urushi is naturally light, so the bracelet feels substantial without weighing the wrist.
[Aesthetic] Profound Night at the Wrist, for Daily Wear and for Keeping
In daily wear, the pure black is quiet and versatile, the larger beads adding weight to simple clothing; in formal settings, the mirror polish glows subtly at the cuff — understated, yet carrying presence. When not worn, lay the bracelet on a desk: black beads in a circle, like a dark moon. The lacquer develops a richer patina with age — a bracelet to wear for a lifetime.
[Care] Wipe lacquer gently with a soft cloth. Avoid sharp objects, strong acids, and alkalis.
The mirror-polished surface is sensitive to direct sunlight and hard friction that could leave scratches. Store in a jewelry box or soft pouch when not worn to prevent cord wear and bead damage.
